USCIS APPOINTMENT RECEIVED

Last Saturday I found a beautiful little thing in my mailbox...our official USCIS biometrics (fingerprinting) appointment notice from the US government!! They have us scheduled for October 26th at 8:00am.

Tuesday morning Lance and I decided we would try to walk-in to see if we could get them done sooner! We had heard from all the other adoptive families in the process currently had great success, that as long as they had the appointment notice they could be squeezed in! So, Lance and I drove the hour to the office and were TURNED AWAY!!!!! booooooo

The guard was extremely RUDE! She was like, "You can't do that! Who told you that?! We can't just have people just walkin' in anytime they want!" Uh okay...waited 15 mins to talk to another person, who just decided to give a lesson on how the whole process works (which we are informed) and decided to add the comment..."What's 20 more days when you are waiting two years anyways?"

SERIOUSLY!!!??? A. You obviously haven't been through an adoption before with a child who lives in an orphanage and has health issues...EVERY DAY means something. B. Obviously you are ill informed because EVERY adoption doesn't take 2 years. Whatever...rude and uncalled for and unprofessional.

She did end on, "Well, if you wanted to try another day to come in the last last  part of the day, MAYBE we could squeeze you in, but not guaranteeing it." So we will try one of these days to maybe be squeezed in, if not we will just have until October 26th and be patient...all in GODS TIMING NOT MINE!!

Our agency has received our documents and is just waiting for a letter from their home office in Colorado that needs to accompany our dossier to our little girl's country. So she said she is patiently waiting (which means I have to try to be patient too...ugh its SO hard!) for that letter. She is hoping to mail it off tomorrow (Friday) or first part of next week. Sooner the better so it has time to be translated by the in country coordinator before the committee meets in few weeks. They only meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month, so REALLY praying it will be able to be submitted to committee the 4th Monday of this month! If they review our information and approve us, they should issue a travel date for 10 days - 2 months out. We were told to most likely expect a travel date either late November or Early/Mid December!!!!

Oh please pray that the letter gets here quickly so we can get that paperwork processing in her country asap. Also, pray that they don't need additional paperwork or anything redone for some reason!

We have a good chance that we will be meeting our little girl for the first time before the end of the year! AHHHH!!

That is SO frustrating, especially since other FBI offices have been much more accommodating. Try again soon, just to test the theory, and if that doesn't work, give it to God and let Him work it out in His perfect timing.

And I'm praying hard that the last piece of paper is received today so that your dossier can be sent to EE ASAP!! It's so hard to wait when all the paperwork YOU are responsible for has already been completed...this is totally out of your control, so I pray for peace for you

(I'd pray for patience for you, but we know how THAT goes--LOL)

Keep up the persistance! NO can be just a suggestion! Five years from now, only those close to you will remember, and the mean people will forget. Keep pushing!
