I finally have a minute to sit down and write about our fantastic garage sale we held this last Saturday. This was our first fundraiser and we could not have gotten through it without the love, time, donations, prayers of our family and friends. We had SOOOOOOO many items donated. Then friends organized multiple nights to do drop off and pick ups and also nights of sitting and tagging every items in a huge hot warehouse. All day Saturday, I would look over this three car garage/driveway FULL of stuff and tear up, this scene was such a reflection of the love for our family and our little girl. This is my first garage sale, and might be my last!!:) It was A LOT of work.
All our hard work paid off...drum roll please......we made $2600!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $2600 closer to Rush, to my daughter!! AHHHHHH...I was blown away by the support of our community and encouraging words we were given throughout the day. I meant to take so many wonderful photos of the day and the helpers and the tables overflowing with stuff...but was seriously soooo busy I didn't even have a chance to remember I even owned the camera that was sitting in the chair right next to me. So, bummer I didn't get a photo to document this beautiful day.
I had made a cheerleader style 5 yard butcher paper sign that hung from the roof with a HUGE blown up photo of Rush that said "Bring her Home." We also had a flyer with the Reece's Rainbow link on it we passed out to everyone that bought something that day. Along with that we were able to share with them that their $$ was going towards the adoption costs to bring our daughter home and share the reality that orphaned children with special needs face around the world. We met MULTIPLE people who were adopted, have adopted, or have a friend/relative with Ds. I have never been the evangelist type, its not really my spiritual gift to be able to just walk up to someone and tell them about the Lord. Well, the Lord used this fundraiser and our baby girl Rush, to share his glory to all who stepped foot into that driveway. They wanted to know our story and we didn't leave any details out. It was incredible to be able to share our story of leaping out in faith to so many people!
I was so touched to talk to people who had heard our story through someone and how our journey and obedience had encouraged them in their walk with the Lord and maybe a difficult situation they are currently going through. I was humbled beyond words. Lance and I are being used by our Lord and Savior, He knows our name, and is calling us to shine His glory through us!! HOW INCREDIBLE TO BE USED AND BRING OUR LORD THE GLORY HE SO RICHLY DESERVES!!!!!!!

There's a reason why I've never done a garage sale before :). It's a LOT of work, but I'm so happy I was able to help for such a worthy cause. Every dollar counts! And yes, I'm sure many seeds of faith were planted. To God be the Glory!
Wow! That's a huge amount of money! Congratulations on a great sale!
