So, yesterday i discovered that the treaty regarding adoptions between the US and our girlie's country was submitted to their "congress" for ratification! It is speculated that her city was closing just until this treaty was ratified, so the first step has taken place, it is on their agenda to ratify in session over the next couple weeks. We are praying over those who are discussing the new regulations and procedures in this treaty, that they will be pleased by what is presented and that the flood gates of her city come flying open!! This treaty was discussed, re-written, and signed by Hillary Clinton and Rush's country's officials last July, so it has been waiting 8 months to be submitted. So, it should provide a smoother adoption process and provide more information to make informed decisions on both sides of the process.
So little progess, but forward motion at that. We are continuing to pray for God's PERFECT timing and will in all of this...but I will be honest and say that this waiting period can sometimes be so difficult, i knew it was going to be hard after we met our sweet girl, but SERIOUSLY, now with really NO concrete timeline as of yet for when we will return, its hard. I keep looking up and asking God, "Okay teaching moment about patience and trusting in your will, i think i've aced it and lesson is learned...can we be done with this lesson yet?" So childlike, huh? This is not the last teaching moment, and I am a sinner and fall short over and over again, so i think the Lord just chuckles at me and reminds me I am a constant work in progress and to just enjoy this journey and he is refining me, I am growing up!! I am so blessed to have such an encouraging husband and a busy little boy that fills my day with so much!
Please say a prayer today over all the officials that are discussing this treaty, this is the decision that will have all those doors opening again and allow all those sweet babies to who are on the other side joining their families!!!
We are just patiently waiting still...but have been doing more nesting and finally finished (95% anyways) Rush's room!!!!! Oh i have had so much fun with her room and definitely doing laundry with sweet colors and frills!!!
Awwww...sweet girlie clothes!!
I have had these framed flower prints i picked up a thrift store for $3 FOREVER...i just loved them but just could never find a place to put them in my house...so i whipped out a little spray paint and they were PERFECT for her room.
I made this burlap banner and stenciled the "love" on it myself, and this may be one of my favorite things in her room...i just love how it turned out!
Little lacy curtains from Ikea and a cherry blossom tree (Thank you Julie Stabler!) that again i have held onto for at least 3 years with no where in my house to put it, but a vision of a little girl's room I would have SOMEDAY...so happy to see it has found the perfect home!
CANNOT WAIT TO SEE MY LITTLE IN ALL THESE DRESSES!!!
A few years ago, my "in-town" mom, MG and I painted this dresser and she bought me some beautiful clear knobs to dress it up a bit! It has just been for storage in my guest room, but now is starting to collect sweet little girl's clothes and blankets. I wanted a wonderful place to store all Rush's "hair pretties" and so I spray painted a thrifted frame I had, framed some chicken wire, hung on the wall, filled with bows, and VOILA! A great place to store her bows and also a piece of artwork on the wall!
I found the milk glass lamp at a thrift shop for $4 and I went to Lowes to pick up supplies and rewired the lamp myself! I was pretty excited about how easy it was! I found the shade at Target for $5 on clearance, and i still have a project in mind that will finish the shade with a little dressing up!
(That is a mattress on the floor, it is still being used as a guest room for visiting family! Yes, that is Rowdy playing on his new ipad2, a HUGE gift from Gpa and Gma!! He LOVES to be in her room and knows it as "Rush's Room"!)
Every time i walk down the hallway this is my view when I glance in...and oh how it makes my heart HAPPY!!!!! I have a few more projects to complete to finish it off, but this weekend was so fun watching my vision come to life!
I can't wait for my Rush to be playing in her room!

I meant to tell you long ago that you've done a beautiful job on her room!
